A nighttime cosmic starry scenic view into the Colorado San Luis Valley. This is one of the darkest skies in the country where all the stars shine bright. Lots of UFO sighting here too. There is a UFO watch tower on highway 17. Great place to watch a meteor shower. The valley has a local nickname as UFO Landing strip. I can see that. On each side of the valley are high elevation snow covered Rocky Mountains that probably look like lines of the runway.
One of the locals said he had an air traffic controller from DIA come in who said they get six to eight UFO reports from pilots every month. So figure that one out.
The skies are clear and amazing here. But up the road and over the hill by aircraft is a lot of military and air force bases so maybe there might be some cool stuff that they like to test above these mountains. Who knows… but laying on the top of your hood with the tunes playing gazing up to the sky is fun and something to get lost in.
