Here are some fun Denver Colorado Facts. The first permanent structure in Denver was not a hospital, bank or house—it was a saloon. Denver brews more beer than any other city in the nation, with over 200 different beers brewed daily. Because of Denver’s air and altitude, it’s also easier to get drunk. Alcoholic drinks can sometimes feel 1.5 to 3 times more potent in the Mile High City. In Denver’s rarified air, golf balls go about 10% farther than they would at sea level.

Denver has 300 days of annual sunshine, more annual hours of sun than San Diego or Miami. The sun feels warmer because you’re closer to it. In winter, Denver is dryer than Phoenix, with an average daily high of 45 degrees in February. There are 200 named peaks visible from Denver, including 32 that soar to 13,000 feet and above. The mountain panorama visible from Denver is 140 miles long.
